Strength Training 🤝 Cardio
I have been consistently doing strength training in the past 3 years. My main motivation was to build muscle to have a higher Basal Metabolic Rate so that I can eat a lot without gaining fat too quickly. Throughout the process, however, I become fond of the exercise itself and now going to the gym becomes part of my daily routines.
At the end of 2023, I came across Outlive, a very well-written book by Peter Attia. This book promotes the importance of doing both cardio and strength training to have a better longevity so that you can live and, more importantly, stay healthy for longer.
Since then, end of 2023, I have been thinking to include some cardio to my daily routine without success. Probably because I overthink it and really try to make a perfect start as opposed to "just" start.
Now, I am ready to start. I bought a pair of cheap, local shoes, and ready to run. I am now trying to build my cardio foundation by doing a couch to 5k training plan. Now I won't care too much, I will just do it.
